Virtual Serial Port ActiveX Control ist eine erweiterte Komponente. Sie hilft Ihrer Anwendung bei der Erstellung der uneingeschränkt vielen Paare von virtuellen seriellen Schnittstellen. Ihre Anwendung wird die virtuellen seriellen Schnittstellen schaffen, löschen und kontrollieren können. Dadurch, dass die virtuellen Schnittstellen genauso wie die realen aussehen und sich verhalten, erkennen andere Anwendungen nicht, dass diese Schnittstellen virtuell sind. Es ist möglich, die von einer anderen Anwendung an die virtuelle COM-Schnittstelle gesendeten Daten zu kontrollieren und darauf zu antworten, indem man eigene Daten sendet. Eltimas Virtual Serial Port ActiveX besitzt solche Features wie die Feststellung der Anwendungen, die die virtuelle serielle Schnittstelle öffnen; genaue Emulation der Baudrate, Emulation der Abbrüche der Verbindung; die Umbenennung der virtuellen Schnittstellen und vieles mehr. Virtual Serial Port ActiveX ist kompatibel mit Microsoft Visual C++ 5-6, Microsoft Visual Basic 5-6, Borland C++ Builder 3-6, Borland Delphi 3-6.
